In problems on Train, they will ask you to find length of the Train or length of platform or speed of a Train or time taken to cross an object.

Understand the question and find which type of problems on Train given. Then summarize date given and what they asked to find

Speed of Train(s)

Length of Train, platform, cave which ever given.

Time taken to cross an object or platform or cave or tunnel

Then calculate the length, speed and apply the formula

Given speed of the Train(m)   =                      3600

     Length of the Train(m)             Time taken to cross (sec)

fill the above equation with given data and solve to find answer.

Example :

A train length 200 m long running at a speed of 40 kmph. Find the time taken to pass a standing pole near the railway line.

Type

     Type 1 problem

Summarize

     Length of the Train = 200 m

     Speed of the Train = 40 kmph

     Time taken to cross = ? (want to find)

Formula

   40*1000   =   3600

       200                x

=> (40*1000)*x = 3,600*200 (cross-multiplied)

      40,000x = 7,20,000

      4x = 72

        x = 72/4

        x = 18

So answer: Time taken to cross a ploe is 18 sec.
