Question: Two trains length 110 m and 150 m long are running in the same direction at 59 kmph and 35 kmph respectively. In how much time will the fast train cross the second train.

 

Type:

     Type 3 problem.

 

Summary:

     Total length of the train = 160 m (110m Train 1 + 150m Train 2 length)

     Speed of the train = 24 kmph (59 kmph faster Train - 35 kmph slow Train)

 

     24 * 1,000  =  3600

          160              x

      24,000*x = 160*3600

      24x = 576

      x = 24

 

Answer: Faster Train will cross the other train in 24 sec.
