The Saraswati Samman is an annual award for outstanding prose or poetry literary works in any Indian language. The Saraswati Samman was instituted in 1991 by the K. K. Birla Foundation.

Bengali authors Sunil Gangopadhyay Paniker was selected for his ‘novel Pratham Alo’

Sanskrit poet Govind Chandra Pande selected for his collection of 163 Sanskrit poems 'Bhagirathi'.

Marathi playwright Mahesh Elkunchwar was selected for his play 'Yugant'.
